The New Dromo Bottle and How It Works to Reduce Waste
As leaders in thermoplastic resin distribution, the plastic professionals at Plastic Service Centers stay on top of news and innovations in the plastic industry. And we understand that many industries are making changes to keep up with the growing e-commerce market, and the plastic industry is no exception. For example, certain packaging designs need radically redesigning to meet the challenges created by the shipping process. Now, Plastic Technologies, Inc. (PTI), a company based in Holland, Ohio, has introduced the new Dromo bottle and dispensing system for soaps, lotions, cleaning solutions, and other liquid products. The Dromo bottle cuts waste and makes shipping these products easier and more convenient.
How the New Dromo Bottle Makes Liquids Easier to Ship and Reduces Waste
The Dromo bottle is created from traditional PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) plastic. However, it is much lighter than regular plastic containers. It weighs just 9.6 grams, while most similarly sized bottles weigh approximately 30 or 40 grams. Yet, even with its lighter weight, the Dromo bottle is strong, featuring a unique design that allows it to withstand the rigors associated with shipping.
This bottle fits into reusable dispensers, so it does not require a flat bottom for stability. Instead, it is molded with flat areas on the side. This allows shippers to stack and bundle Dromo bottles together. Then, there is no need for additional shipping materials. In addition, Dromo bottles are completely recyclable. Regarding the Dromo bottle and other innovations in the plastic industry, PTI CEO Thierry Fabozzi has stated the following:
“I want to show that the plastic problem can be solved with plastic solutions. We should not be ashamed of making plastic packaging. Let’s be smart about plastic packaging, start to use it and to combine it with a new way of consumption.”
